Murder of Elizabeth Minshall, prosecutor's wife, by shooting her. Prisoner had been travelling on 'a journey of pleasure' with his employer who carried with him a brace of pistols 'upon account of the many burglaries committed at this time'. Unknown to prisoner the pistols were loaded and he accidentally shot the deceased, a servant at the inn where they lodged. Inquest records verdict of chance-medley or manslaughter. more
