Assault with intent to kill the prosecutor. Prisoner born at Charlestown, South Carolina; had been to New South Wales with Captain Cameron, but not as a convict and had worked in the Derbyshire collieries. Prisoner also implicated in the theft of a coat at Hopton Castle, co. Salop, but not indicted. Prisoner apprehended at Berriw. Prisoner held in gaol on another indictment, see no. 15 in this file, and had tricked the prosecutor into entering the same, assaulting him and claiming that he was the person 'who fetched a witness to try to take away his life'. more

He had also worked on a trading vessel belonging to Barmouth, co. Mer. Prisoner also implicated in the theft of a coat at Hopton Castle, co.
