Neglect of duty by taking recognizance from a felon, Thomas Williams the younger, Brecon, tailor (see no. 1 in 4/384/1) who absconded to London, then to Bristol and Bath. Accused caused an advertisement in the Gloucester Journal, 12 May 1767 with a description of the said deserter, the felon having deserted from the Breconshire militia offering a guinea reward besides what was allowed by Act of Parliament for apprehending deserters. A copy of the newspaper was sent to London and shown via Walter Jeffreys, London, esq. to Sir John Fielding, requesting him to set his people to apprehend him.
