The cheese had been brought to Machynlleth by a carrier who delivered the same to Evan Griffith, Llanfihangel Genau'r-glyn, co. Card. yeoman, who left the same in Robert Evans' buttery. Prosecutor lodged the night at Machynlleth. Prisoner also suspected of stealing pewter although not indicted for this.
