The raw, salted, Irish cow hides were sent via water from Chester to Holt, where they were supposedly deposited safely before being carried on horseback to Wrexham. The theft was proclaimed in several market towns. Prisoner tried to sell the same at Chester. Thomas Parry, Is-y-Coed, co. Denb. implicated but not indicted. more
